North Island, occasional showers in the south spreading up the east coast, showers and fine spells elsewhere. South Island, showers in the south and east, mainly morning and evening, snow to low levels at first, mainly fine elsewhere but a few west coast showers north of Hokitka later.

Monday

North Island, showers and fine spells, snow showers possible on high level roads at night. South Island, fine or becoming fine in most places, but still a few showers in the far south and about Banks Peninsula and the Kaikoura Coast.

Tuesday

North Island, occasional showers. South Island, occasional showers in the south, a few morning showers in the east and the odd shower along the west coast, mainly fine elsewhere.

Chatham Islands

Showers becoming lighter and less frequent on Sunday, and southwesterlies developing. Strong southwesterlies and showers on Monday and Tuesday.
