North Island, Rain spreading to most places, clearing south of Taranaki to Hawkes Bay later. South Island, Mainly fine in the west, a few showers elsewhere retreating to the ranges by afternoon.

Tuesday

In the west and south of the Country, A period of heavy rain then showers, some possibly heavy. High cloud in the east with a few spots of rain.

Chatham Islands

Cloudy periods on Sunday and northwest developing.A period of rain with a southerly change on Monday. Rain, with heavy falls possible, developing on Tuesday with westerlies strengthening.
