Wanganui, Taihape to Wellington, also Wairarapa
Scattered showers turning to rain overnight, with some heavy falls, falling as snow above 700 metres. Severe southerly gales developing in Wellington and Kapiti and possibly in south Wairarapa.
Nelson, Buller and the Marlborough Sounds
Periods of rain clearing tonight. Severe gale southerlies, easing tomorrow afternoon.
Remainder of Marlborough, Canterbury
