North Island, rain or drizzle most places, but dry with high cloud in Gisborne and Hawkes Bay. South Island, rain in the west, with heavy falls there, becoming widespread later and easing in the west. Gale or severe gale northwesterlies easing in the South Island.


North Island, rain becoming heavier and more persistent,then easing to showers, northwest gales abating. South Island, rain easing to showers by afternoon, then clearing.


North Island, becoming fine in most places but still a few showers in western Northland. South Island, rain or showers developing in the west and far south, mainly fine elsewhere.

Chatham Islands

Cloud increasing on Saturday and northerlies rising to gale. Rain on Sunday, easing to showers later and northwesterlies turning lighter southwest. A few showers on Monday,and southwesterlies dying out.
