North Island, a few showers in the north becoming confined to Northland. Fine elsewhere. South Island, fine apart from a few showers remaining about the fiords and Stewart Island. Morning frosts inland in the east.


North Island, mainly fine but cloud increasing from the north and west with the odd shower, evening rain about Taranaki. South Island, cloud thickening. Rain developing in the west,spreading elsewhere at night and snow lowering to 800 metres in Fiordland.


North Island, rain with heavy falls over the northern half,easing to few showers from the west. South Island, rain or showers in most places, heavy falls in the east, with snow down to 1000 metres.Becoming fine about the fiords, but with very strong southeasterlies.

Chatham Islands

Rain easing to few showers Saturday morning with strong southwesterlies. Showers and southwest gales easing Sunday. Mainly fine on Monday with northeasterlies developing.
