North Island, cloud increasing, rain spreading south from afternoon, reaching central North Island at night. A few showers in Manawatu and Kapiti. South Island, cloud increasing, rain developing in the west and south with some heavy falls.
Sunday
North Island, rain spreading to most areas, with heavy falls north of Bay of Plenty, then easing in the afternoon, but just a few showers south of Manawatu. South Island, Rain with heavy falls in the west and south. A few showers spreading elsewhere later. Snow lowering to 500 metres in the far south.
Monday
A few showers for most places, more frequent in Westland and Southland, snow falling to low levels in the far south. Mainly fine in Northland and Bay of Plenty. Chatham Islands
