North Island, scattered light rain or drizzle developing from Taranaki to Wairarapa southwards, fine spells further north. South Island, rain or drizzle spreading to most places then gradually clearing from the south.

Wednesday

North Island, scattered light rain or drizzle in most places, but mainly fine north of the Bombay Hills, and drizzle clearing from Manawatu to Wellington. South Island, cloudy periods, with patchy drizzle about the northwest ranges, longer fine spells in Otago and Southland.

Chatham Islands

Mostly cloudy throughout the period. Rain developing on Tuesday, and northerly winds turning southerly. Rain clearing on Wednesday.
